Largest digital camera snaps its first shot: World largest digital camera
The world’s largest digital camera has come into action by taking its first shot recently. The camera is a joint project of two U.S. government agencies, and is designed to record images of the universe for ten years. Reports suggest that the largest digital camera took over a decade with an amount of $700 million (US) dollars.
The whole camera measures about 13 feet from the front lens. It has all support equipment, and 5 feet in diameter. The camera’s focal plane is more than 2 feet wide and it is similar to the imaging sensor of a digital camera. The camera is made up of 189 individual sensors.
