TTD Cancels All VIP and Special Darshans for 10 Days in January
BR Naidu, the newly appointed Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has introduced significant changes to Tirumala temple operations. Since assuming office, he has emphasized prioritizing the needs of common devotees. In line with this, BR Naidu announced key decisions today regarding darshan arrangements during the Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival period.
In a statement, BR Naidu declared that Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan will be facilitated from January 10 to January 19. However, during this time, all forms of special darshan have been canceled. Only devotees holding darshan tokens will be permitted entry to have the Lord's darshan.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a highly significant occasion, and the Tirumala temple traditionally allows devotees to pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram during this festival. The TTD has already begun extensive preparations to accommodate pilgrims while focusing on decisions aimed at benefiting the general public.
BR Naidu further clarified that former public representatives, ex-officials, and former chairpersons will not be allowed special privileges for darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadashi, which falls on January 10. Additionally, all VIP break darshan facilities, except for protocol dignitaries, will be suspended from January 10 to January 19. The TTD has also decided to cancel special darshan privileges for infants, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, defense personnel, and NRIs during this 10-day period.
Only pilgrims holding valid darshan tokens or special entry tickets will be allowed to access the darshan lines. While those without tokens will be permitted to enter the Tirumala hill area, they will not be allowed to have darshan of the deity. Devotees have been advised to strictly adhere to their allocated time slots and reach the queue lines on time to ensure a smooth experience.
BR Naidu assured that there will not be long queues like in previous years and that this time, arrangements have been made to provide darshan to the maximum number of devotees possible. He also reiterated that pilgrims wearing the Govindamala will not receive any special arrangements for darshan. Only those with valid darshan tokens or tickets will be allowed to see the deity.
