Heavy Rains Likely to Hit Andhra Pradesh Again as Low Pressure Forms in Bay of Bengal

Andhra Pradesh is bracing for another bout of heavy rains due to the formation of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, a surface circulation over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Indian Ocean is expected to intensify into a low-pressure system today.

The system is predicted to move in a west-northwest direction and may reach the Sri Lankan and Tamil Nadu coasts by December 12. This development could lead to heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh over the next few days.

Officials have forecast significant rainfall in Tamil Nadu on December 11 and 12, and in the southern coastal districts and Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh on December 12. There is also a possibility of the low-pressure area developing into a depression, further intensifying the weather system.
