Andhra Pradesh's Capital Amaravati to Host a World-Class BITS Campus

The Andhra Pradesh government's clarity on the capital city issue has spurred development activities in Amaravati. After five years of uncertainty regarding the capital, the government has initiated steps for Amaravati's progress. Consequently, many investors and institutions are showing interest in establishing operations in the Amaravati capital region.

In this context, the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) is keen to set up its new campus in Amaravati. BITS, which currently has campuses in Pilani (Rajasthan), Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai, is now exploring opportunities to expand to Andhra Pradesh's capital.

The proposed Amaravati campus is planned to be developed on a 50-acre site equipped with modern amenities. On Wednesday, BITS representatives, along with CRDA officials, inspected potential sites near SRM University in Kuragallu and near the bypass at Venkatayapalem. The BITS team stated that a final decision would be made after further discussions with their management.
