Pushpa-2 Achieves Another Sensational Box Office Record
Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's blockbuster film Pushpa-2, directed by Sukumar, continues its remarkable box office run. Released worldwide on December 5, the film set another record on Thursday, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2024 so far.
By the end of its eighth day, Pushpa-2 collected ₹726.25 crore in India and ₹1,067 crore globally, surpassing the lifetime box office earnings of Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD, according to box office tracking site ‘Shocknilk’.
The film is steadily closing in on other Indian cinema giants such as KGF: Chapter 2 (₹1,215 crore), Jawan (₹1,160 crore), RRR (₹1,230 crore), and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹1,788.06 crore).
Despite its strong box office performance, Pushpa-2 has seen a gradual decline in theater occupancy. According to Shocknilk, the film’s current occupancy rate in the Telugu market stands at 24.63%. Morning shows recorded 14.41%, afternoon shows 23.85%, evening shows 30.56%, and night shows 29.68%. The Hindi version’s occupancy rate is reported at 28.93%.
Notably, Pushpa-2 achieved the ₹1,000 crore global milestone within just seven days of its release, setting a new record as the fastest Indian film to reach this landmark.
