CID Opposes Bail for IPS Officers in Kadambari Jetwani Case

The Andhra Pradesh High Court conducted a hearing today regarding the case involving Mumbai actress Kadambari Jetwani. In connection with this case, the CID has filed an affidavit requesting that bail not be granted to the accused IPS officers, Kanthirāṇa Tata and Vishal Gunny.

Several individuals, including the IPS officers, some police personnel, and a lawyer, have filed anticipatory bail petitions. In response, the CID submitted an affidavit alleging that those entrusted with upholding the law misused their powers. The affidavit claimed that Kadambari Jetwani was unlawfully arrested and indicated that the actions were carried out under orders from the then Intelligence Chief. It further mentioned that former Commissioner of Police, Kanthirāṇa Tata, had booked flight tickets to Mumbai in this regard.

The CID expressed concern that granting bail could hinder the investigation. The High Court has scheduled further hearings on the anticipatory bail petitions for Monday.
