10 electric buses donated to TTD

Tirumala, October 21: Megha Engineering Infrastructure Organization has donated 10 electric buses to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). To protect environment in Tirumala, Already the TTD drafted plans to convert all the vehicles that ply in Tirumala as electric vehicles. 
 
12 buses are running at the hill shrine to provide free service to the devotees. TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy said that they wanted to replace these diesel buses with electric buses. ‘In this regard, I requested Olectra Green Teck company CMD Pradip to donate electric buses earlier,’ he said.
 
The TTD chairman said that now Megha Engineering came forward and donated 10 electric buses worth Rs 15 crore to TTD. He thanked Megha Krishna Reddy.
 
YV Subba Reddy said that along with the free buses, they are planning to transform taxis plying in Tirumala also as electric vehicles. Since, taxi drivers cannot afford to buy these expensive vehicles, TTD will extend support by tying up with banks.
