Ponnala Lakshmaiah angry over voting right

Hyderabad, October 17: A dramatic incident took place at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday during the election of Congress party president. Party senior leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah became angry on the polling staff because of the changes in voter list that were made in the last minute.

PCC representatives will have right to vote for the party president elections. But only two representatives will have the vote from each constituency. AICC gave voting ID card to Ponnala and Srinivasa Reddy from Janagaon.

On Monday, when Srinivasa Reddy came to Gandhi Bhavan to cast his vote, the polling staff prevented him, stating that he do not have the voting right. They informed that instead of Srinivasa Reddy, that voting right was allotted to Kommuri Pratap Reddy.

Over this, Ponnala became angry and fired on the staff. He said that he was insulted by denying voting right to Srinivasa Reddy and by giving it to Kommuri Prahtap Reddy. He expressed anguish that he was humiliated, who had served the party for the past 45 years.

Meanwhile, senior leader Jana Reddy tried to convince Ponnala but he refused to listen to anyone. He declared that he will not budge from there until the row over voting right is solved.
