KTR Davos trip costs Rs 13.22 crore

Hyderabad, June 8: The 10-day visit of Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao cost the exchequer Rs 13.22 crore.
 
IT and Industries Minister KTR led Telangana delegation to UK and World Economic Forum, Davos, to project the State as an investment destination for global companies and to bring investments to the State. From May 22 to 26, the Minister and his delegation attended World Economic Forum meetings and toured in UK. The delegation includes IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and another eight senior officers.
 
The government has allotted Rs 2 crore for the Minister’s foreign tour. But the officials requested to sanction another Rs 7.80 crore as Rs 2 crore was not sufficient. Hence, a total of Rs 9.80 crore was released for the trip. 
 
Again the officials requested the government that they need another Rs 3.42 crore, which was released on Tuesday. With this, the total expenditure of KTR’s foreign tour reached Rs 13.22 crore.
