More flyovers to ease traffic in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 6: Keeping in view of the increasing vehicle rush, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation planning to construct a few more flyovers and underpasses under Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
 
A flyover is under construction to Gachibowli ORR after widening the road behind Delloit Corporation near Ikea. The road was extended by 120 feet. 90% of the works are completed. This flyover, being constructed in Y shape, will pass over Gachibowli flyover and will touch ORR on both sides. This passage will help to reach ORR from Mindspace junction and IT offices in Hyderabad knowledge city in just five minutes. The officials are aiming to complete the construction before August 15.
 
Another flyover is also under construction from ORR towards Botanical Garden. The six-lane flyover will be useful for the regular commuters from ORR to Botanical Garden, Kondapur and Miyapur. It is expected that it will take two years for the completion of this project, which is being constructed at an expenditure of Rs 209.5 crore.
 
The GHMC is constructing a fly over at Kothaguda junction at a cost of Rs 263 crore. This will be useful for those travelling from Gachibowli to Kondapur and Miyapur. According to officials, the project will be completed in another two months.
