Yadadri parking fee burn deep hole in devotees’ pockets

Devotees visiting Yadadri temple should be prepared to burn their pockets as the parking fee is exorbitant.

Starting from May 1, each vehicle will be charged Rs 500 for the first hour and after that Rs 100 per every additional hour will be collected. Temple Executive Officer N Geetha Reddy issued orders to this effect on Saturday. Vehicles of MLAs, MLCs, MPs, high-rank officials, judges of High Court as per protocol were exempted from the rule. Also there will be no parking fee for donors of the temple, provided they should show identity cards.

Two officials were appointed for collecting parking fee. As per the orders, vehicles will be allowed to park near bus stand opposite to queue complex and in the open area beside VIP guest house.

After the renovated Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple was opened on March 28 this year, vehicles were not allowed to ply to the hillock. Temple authorities arranged RTC buses for transporting devotees to the hillock free. The request for allowing the devotees’ vehicles atop the hill into consideration turned expensive.

Earlier, Rs 15 for two-wheelers and Rs 100 was collected for cars and other four-wheelers. According to information, same parking fee will be collected for two-wheelers.
